Spark (Spark, #1)
Today, I feel like a king with a convincing win under my belt, and the beauty on my arm is the envy of most of the guys here. Life can’t get any better.
I introduce Eevie around. She shakes hands like she means it, holds her own in conversation, and gets the occasional laugh out of guys I didn’t think had a sense of humour. She must’ve been taking note of some of the ins and outs of motocross, having the balls to ask some interesting questions.
Take note, people: funny, intelligent woman with the guts and looks to match. That confidence is heartbreak material. They’re practically drooling over her. It’s almost pathetic. If they thought they had half a chance, they’d be down on their knees in a millisecond begging for a shot.
Boys, it ain’t gonna happen. Every delectable inch of her is mine, including her heart.
Talking with some of the support crew, Jones edges his way into the conversation, standing a little close to Eevie for my liking. He puffs out his chest, and hooks his thumbs through the front loops of his jeans. Blonde hair and a baby face, he’s a pretty boy. A mummy’s boy. From the way he carries on, he probably got everything he ever wanted as a kid, and had all the latest gear. Mum could barely afford to buy my jerseys, and when she did, I wore them until I outgrew them. I had no choice but to make them last. Last round Jones threw a tantrum like a three year old over something stupid. He got what he wanted, though. Disgusting. Not that I give a shit where he’s come from; at least I know I don’t carry on like a fucking twit.
My eyes are on Jones, and he knows it. Damn it, if he doesn’t like pushing my buttons, and having Eevie here he’s gonna do anything he can to push. If he weren’t on my team I’d barely give him the time of day. He’d be half an alright bloke if he wasn’t so self-absorbed.
He acts like he’s engrossed in what Eevie’s talking about, but his eyes travel down her chest, and even lower, as if he’s trying to rip her clothes off purely with the power of his mind. It heats my blood more than it should.
“When you’re ready for a real man, Eevie, come knockin’ on my door,” Jones says. His eyes dart in my direction before resting back on Eevie’s tits. Fucking douchebag.
Eevie frowns, and purses her glossy lips. “Sorry, I don’t understand. If I’m ready for a real man, why would I knock on your door? Wouldn’t I just go home?” She bats those long lashes. That’s my girl.
Everybody erupts into a fit of laughter, me louder than most. Jones shakes his head, and playfully punches me in the arm. “You’re killin’ me, Aidan. You win today, and I hate you for it, and now your woman’s gonna break my heart,” he says, faking a southern American accent. He clutches his chest as if wounded, and winks at Eevie.
I take a long swig of my beer. “Life’s a bitch, Jones.” Now fuck off.

Beautiful Broken Promises (Broken, #3)

Book Summary:

THIS IS A total STAND-ALONE NOVEL. No need to read the first two books in the series to enjoy this book. This is not a dark romance.

After four years, Lane finally gets the call he’s been waiting for. Given back a piece of the life he’s been fighting so hard to reclaim, will he be able to handle everything that comes along with it? And if so, can all of his broken promises be redeemed?

So, I don’t give up and I won’t let them win
I will find you and I will make sure that you know
You’re my everything

New Adult Contemporary Romance: strong language and sexual content. This novel is intended for those 18 years and older.

My Review:

5 Amazingly Beautiful Stars!

When I heard that there was going to be a third book to this series I was so excited. I absolutely loved the first two books. Jaxon and Jace had each stolen my heart right from the start. In book two, Beautiful Broken Mess we get a small glimpse into the life of Lane, Audrey's best friend. Of course what little I got to see of him, I couldn't help but adore. Now you can guess my excitement when I also learned that book three of this series would be Lane's story. I became so giddy like a little girl.

Beautiful Broken Promises was everything that I had hoped for and more. I had such a hard time putting down the book to do anything which by the way is hard for me, a mom of a two year old little boy. This story is so captivating and pulls you in immediately. Lane has secrets, even from Audrey, the only person who really knows him. Secrets that I would have never guessed. I absolutely loved how Kimberly Lauren wrote this story. You would think you knew what was going to happen, and then out of nowhere discovered something knew. I believe at one point in the book a huge mystery is revealed, and I found myself saying out loud, "Oh my God, no way!". No of course this is laying in bed with my husband next to me, who leans over to look at what I am reading. I felt like my mind had been blown with this discovery. It was one that I didn't expect at all, but wow. It really gave a perspective on the story as a whole, and an understanding even.

I feel as if I could talk for days about this book, but unfortunately for you, I am not going to share too many details. That will just ruin the book for you. You want to know what happens, and why I loved this book for so many different reasons, then I highly suggest you go one-click this bad boy right this moment. I can't begin to describe how much I love Lane after reading his story. He is such a compassionate, strong, loving man who never gives up.

Now would I say this was my absolutely favorite book out of the entire series, no because that's impossible. I loved each book just as much as the other. They are beautifully written, and give us a look at different characters, all the while by still bringing characters from each book into the next. I truly loved this series! It was by far on my all time favorites and I can't wait to read more from Kimberly Lauren. I hope you all will love her books as much as I have, and love the characters too! You kind of grow attached to them after all. <3

About the Author:
I'm a wanderer, an adventurer, a traveler.

I want to see it all. I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list.

"She travels the world & home is always in her heart."

Lately if I'm not traveling or chasing a toddler, I'm writing. Which is weird because I hated writing in college. Oh wait, that's because that was boring. Who really wants to sit there and cite all your sources into APA format? Not this girl. Writing for yourself is enjoyable and cathartic. Please try it. Then tell me about because I love indie authors.

I'm a Texas girl, who misses living in Europe!

Hope you enjoy my books! xoxo KL

Cover Reveal - His Reverie by Monica Murphy

His Reverie

I knew from the moment I first saw her she was the one. The only girl I could ever want. The only girl I could ever love. She is light. I am darkness. She is innocent. I’ve done too much. She is good. I am bad. She is my every dream. I should be her every nightmare. We come from different worlds. She’s…perfect. And I’m… Not. Somehow she wants me anyway. So we’ll grasp at what we can. We’re going to make this summer count. She’s my secret. And I’m hers. The problem with secrets is they never last for long. And when others discover we’re together, they’ll do whatever it takes to keep us apart. All I know is: I won’t let them. Because Reverie Hale? She’s mine.

His Reverie Teaser

“Thirsty?” I jump at the sound of a soft female voice, my hand jerking so the hose splashes me right in the face. Muttering a curse, I drop the hose and reach out blindly, wrenching the faucet off with one hand as I swipe at my eyes with the back of the other. I hear the girl laugh and I whirl around, fully prepared to find some bratty preteen Hale daughter mocking me. But she’s not a preteen. Not even close. More like around my age. She’s tall and slender, her long blonde hair falling far past bared tan shoulders. She’s wearing some sort of sundress or whatever you call it and she’s pretty much covered since it hits just above her knees, though her arms are exposed since the dress is sleeveless. The sun catches her just right though, shining through the thin fabric of her skirt so I can see through it. My gaze drops and all I can see is long, long legs through the shadowy fabric. Damn. Those sexy legs are endless. She clears her throat, like she knows exactly where I’m looking and what I’m thinking and I jerk my gaze up guiltily to meet hers, feeling like a jackass. That’s when I notice her eyes are blue. As blue as the sky above us, and she’s so damn pretty, with delicate features and pink, pink lips, that I can’t seem to form words. “Who are you?” she asks curiously. Her voice washes over me, sweet and melodic and now it’s my turn to clear my throat to get the lump out so I can freaking speak. “Who are you?” I ask back like an idiot. She smiles shyly and my entire body reacts, a bolt of electricity seeming to go through me. “I asked first.” “Are you Hale’s daughter?” If she is, that sucks because holy hell she’s hot but yeah. She’s completely untouchable if she’s a Hale. “What if I am?” She kicks at the ground with her sandaled foot, her cheeks coloring the faintest pink. Innocence radiates from her. She looks like a damn angel and seems a little uncomfortable with me. Despite her seeming discomfort, I think she might be trying to flirt with me. “Well, I’d make sure and be extra polite to you since I work for your dad.” I go with the truth because I don’t want any problems from this girl. I probably shouldn’t even be alone with her. She could say anything, accuse me of something terrible and I’d have no defense. Her word against mine. And her word would win every single time. Another laugh escapes her and she slowly shakes her head. “I like your honesty.” I like everything about her so far but I keep my lips clamped shut. I’ve already said enough to make myself look like a total loser.“So I’m guessing you’re definitely Hale’s daughter?”

Blog Tour - Irreparable by Amanda Lanclos

In one day your life can go from awesome to total shit and for me it’s going to change forever.  Who am I?  My name is PFC Jameson Carter, and I am a United States Marine, or I was until a bomb detonated and took half of me with it.  The only thing that kept me alive was the woman I had waiting back for me at home.
How do you go from being a complete person to being half of something?  For me, I have help, but how can I be anything more than half of what I used to be?  Then when the one person you count on, the person you lived for leaves you how do you react?
For Samantha Blalock life is easy, she helps repair people like me, the people who lose limbs.  Something isn’t the same though, she’s changed.  See I’ve known Samantha for years.  She’s hiding something.  Can we help each other through these trying times in our lives?  Or does the fact remain that we are both irreparable?

4.5 Stars!
I was so excited when my friend Amanda told me she was writing her first book, and am so happy to get to share with everyone the amazing story of Jameson Carter that Amanda created! Being a military wife this story evoked lots of emotions from me because I know what is is like to have your loved one go to war and be scared of the inevitable. This story allows us to see what War was like for Jameson Carter. The good, and the bad. The poor man went through loss in many forms and living day to day life is a struggle for him.

Samantha Blalock isn't just a woman who comes into his life and saves him. She is much more than that. A woman he has known his entire life. He never fully saw her though, not until he returned home from war. Samantha has her own demons that she must live with each day though. Jameson can see that the light that used to shine so bright in her eyes his no longer there, and he is determined to learn why and help bring it back.

This book is not for those who have a rough time reading tragic scenes. Yes there are some very graphic details within this story, and it can be hard to read. It is very sad. I found myself in tears at one point because as I said before this story does hit a spot that's close to my heart. I very much enjoyed reading this book, and am so proud of Amanda Lanclos. There were a few places that seemed to be a little repetitious in the story, but I didn't feel that it took away from the story, or writing. I am so honored to call my friend an Author and to share her story with you all. I hope that you can all enjoy this beautiful story as much as I did.

Jerking out of the bed I gasp, my body drenched in sweat, it’s something that I’ve become accustomed to.  Four months I’ve been in this hospital reliving the pain of that night, and I still relive it every day I wake up and look down at my lower half.
Today is the day I get to leave this hell hole I have been placed into by the VA.  I look around the room at all the high tech equipment they have all around me.  There is a heart monitor and it is beeping like crazy as my eyes land on Mary-Beth sleeping peacefully on the pull out couch.  It took two months to get me back to the States after the bombing; I had to have extensive therapy for the burns I sustained.  Luckily for me I didn’t have any scarring, but my legs couldn’t be saved.
I can smell the hospital smell, you know what I mean?  The clean smell, the smell of alcohol wipes, and the smell of iodine as it goes on to clean your skin.  That is a smell I don’t believe I will ever be able to forget. It is etched into my brain forever.
An honorable discharge is what I got after having my legs blown apart and four of my best friends stripped from me by Al-Qaida. I have been through three extensive surgeries, and unfortunately by the end of them, I have lost both of my legs.
I look over and smile as I notice Mary-Beth laying on the couch of my hospital room, her brown hair covering her beautiful face. I laugh softly as I see the drool running down her chin onto her pillow from her plump lips.  Three years she waited for me after high school and I thank God every day because, let me be honest, I would have given up a long fucking time ago if it weren’t for her. She stirs and sits up and wipes the drool from her face and catches my eye.  Standing from her make shift bed she gets up and comes to stand before me.
“Did you sleep well?” she asks. Looking into those beautiful emerald green eyes I know she knows I had the dream again, so I will not lie to her; she sees through them anyway.
“Eh, I had a rough night but it will be fine. I’m just ready to get the hell out of this place.” I smile and lean into her hand when she places it on my cheek, but a feeling of dread washes over me as I look at the wheelchair I have been given.
I hate that fucking thing. I am a man and I shouldn’t have to rely on anything to help me get around. Well, except for my midnight blue 2012 Mustang GT waiting at home for me.  I thought I had a reason to hate the men that performed those acts of terrorism after 9/11, but after February 2013 my hate has changed. If I could I would kill them all with my bare hands.
“Are you ready to get out of here? I know a little girl who is going to be so excited to see you again.” Mary-Beth smiles and when I shrug she lets out a sigh. “Jameson, I know you’re dealing with a lot of loss baby, but you have to remember, you’re here and you survived. You cannot leave; I need you here with me.” She lets out a little sigh and looks me in the eye before she speaks again.
“I think God kept you alive for me. He knew if he took you away I would never be able to breathe again.  After losing Mom and Leila, I could never imagine losing you. You’re the greatest part of me. Even if you feel you are not whole, you are. You’re alive and you’re breathing. That’s got to be worth something.” A tear runs down her cheek as she looks at me and my breathing hitches. I am being selfish.  I am alive while four of my brothers were laid to rest. Their families have that burden to bear, while I just have to carry the thought of being half of what I once was.
“You’re right Mary-Beth. I am glad to still be breathing but it doesn’t mean it’s going to get easier. How am I supposed to go on knowing it should have been me? It could have been me.” I look down at the sheets and twist my hands into them so I don’t have to look into her face. I know what’s in her eyes; pity mixed with agony and I want neither of those emotions when I look at her.
She huffs and walks over to her bag and then into the bathroom, slamming the door shut.  I wait until I hear the water running and lift my blanket slowly to look at the bandages on my now non-existent legs. I let the air leave my lungs in a loud groan, thinking of what the future holds.
I let out a loud groan as the two nurses’ help me from the bed to the wheelchair.  “Man, you’re going to be walking in no time with the physical therapist you got.  Blalock is the best in the profession around here,” Kurt says as he wheels me down to the front of the hospital.
Mary-Beth is standing beside her red Honda Accord and smiling.  “You finally get to come home.”  I laugh softly and reach my hands into the car.  I put one hand on the console and one on the dashboard just like they taught me to do in therapy in the hospital.
Kurt holds the wheelchair as I pull myself into the seat.  I guess that’s what I get for making fun of Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump. Now I’m the real life version of him.  “Thanks for everything Kurt,”  I say and salute him before he shuts the door.  Mary-Beth slides into the car and her shorts ride up her already exposed thighs.  “Baby, you’re trying to kill me,” I say with a grin and she laughs.
“No, I am trying to keep you alive, thank you,” she replies and starts driving to the house.  We pull up to the house, which is a simple townhouse covered in brick along with four others in the complex.  There is a white picket fence for Maggie, my golden Labrador, in the back.  Man how I have  missed her!  Mary-Beth gets the wheelchair out of the trunk and brings it over to my door.
“Thanks,” I grunt out as I position my hands to move myself from the car to the chair.  I will be so glad when I don’t have to worry about relying on someone else to help me.
Mary-Beth stops at the front door and walks around me.  “Wait right here Jameson. I’m gonna go put Maggie in the back yard so she doesn’t jump all over you before you can get situated.” She starts to walk in but I stop her.
“I want to see Maggie now, please.”  I smile and push my chair into the threshold and laugh when Maggie jumps into my lap like she weighs all of ten pounds.  We wrestle a bit and she jumps around licking all over my face.  Well at least one of my girls was excited to see me. It wasn’t that Mary-Beth wasn’t excited;  I was torn and mangled when she first saw me.  I guess that deserves a pass for not being enthusiastic.
“She’s really been missing you the last few years, but a lot more since you came back for a week before your deployment.  She did a lot of moping. I suppose we owe Tanner, the kid next door, for spending time with her..  He likes to play ball with Maggie. I think the kids at school bully him and she seems to be therapeutic for him.”  Mary-Beth smiles and pushes me into the living room and walks back into the kitchen.
Maggie jumps down and starts pawing at me to rub her head, so I rub the top of her head and scratch her ear like I did when she was a puppy. I can’t believe how big Maggie is getting. She has grown up into a big golden Labrador and she has one ear that flops and one that sticks up in a funny way.  Her long hair is all over the house, but it’s totally worth it.   It’s amazing how a dog will never forget a person who cared for it. Well I’m sure they won’t forget the person who abuses them either.
“Here baby.”  I turn to see a beer sitting in front of my face.  Thank the good Lord for this woman, she knows me so well.  I haven’t had a drink in six very long months.  I take a sip and moan my approval.
“I was gonna see if you wanted to go to Hooter’s tonight. Mason and Luke wanted to see you, but if you’re not up for it we can stay in and I’ll order some pizza.”  She smiles and I meet her green eyes.
“I think I better wait a few more days before I try to do the social thing. Hooters isn’t really the place for me to go, not like this.”  I point to the chair and Mary-Beth’s smile disappears.
“And why not?” Uh oh, bitchy woman is out again.  “Mary-Beth, I’m in a damn wheel chair and it’s always so packed in there. I wouldn’t be able to get around,” I say and she puts her hand on her hip.
“Jameson, they have to be able to accommodate you. It’s against the law not to.”  Here goes momma bear Mary-Beth. It’s something I have always loved about her and she never lets people get picked on.  She has tried to be superwoman to everyone when we were younger. Well, except to Luke’s sister Sam. It was like they had a competition or something.  Speaking of Sam, I need to check on her. I haven’t spoken to her since the night I left for Afghanistan.
“You’re right Mary-Beth, but I’d rather not go for a few more weeks please.” I pet Maggie’s head again and then turn on the flat screen to watch some LSU football.  Don’t judge me. Les Miles puts on a nail biter and it’s not always easy to see my Tigers play where I’ve been.
“Okay, I’ll just go order us some pizza then.” With that she walks out of the room, and for once I actually feel like a man again.  Pissed off woman? Check.  Dog by my side? Check. Beer in my hand? Check.  Step one on my road to normalcy is complete.
I sit on the couch with Mary-Beth and Maggie on both sides of me. Funny how they can come and go as they want, but I have to move from one seated place to another.  I eat my pizza and groan; hospital food sucks compared to this.  I grab Mary-Beth’s hand and drink a sip of my beer.  She squeezes my hand and lays her head down in my lap as I watch the game.   “It’s nice to have you back Jameson.” She sighs and I smile.
“It’s good to be back.  I have missed being all domesticated.” I let out a light chuckle and she slaps my thigh.
“Not funny. I know you feel like you’re not enough anymore, but baby you’ll always be enough for me.”  She locks our fingers and turns her head to look up at me.
“I know Mary-Beth. It’s just hard to explain.”  I put the beer down and run my fingers through her hair.  I watch as she closes her almond shaped green eyes.   This is my Mary-Beth; the one I took to the field behind old man Rayborn’s barn in town.  She’s the reason why I spent hours with Luke catching fireflies in mason jars. I wanted to light up the blanket where Mary-Beth and I made love the first time.  I remember this look of bliss on her face after that, and now I remember why I survived that bomb.  She needed me, and dammit I was going to be everything she needed. Even if I was only half of the man I used to be.

Release Day - When We Fall by Kendall Ryan

Book 3 in the highly addictive When I Break series, about sex addict Knox and his addiction counselor, McKenna has released early and is available now!
In this third and final installment of the much loved When I Break series, Knox and McKenna’s relationship has reached a critical impasse. The mistakes and secrets of their pasts have caught up to them and threaten their future happiness. Can McKenna trust that Knox’s sexual addiction is behind him and make a life with this beautifully troubled man? And when Knox reveals the full truth about his past, will McKenna be able to put her own fears aside and accept him?

5+++ Stars!!

When We Fall was everything and more that I had hoped for. This series was by far my absolute favorite yet by Kendall Ryan. I adored the characters, and how their story played out!

When We Fall picks up right where When I Surrender stopped. Now of course book 2 left us with a cliffhanger, and believe me, my heart was pounding in my chest so hard with how McKenna found Knox, but there is a reason I love Knox. Knox proves that he is a changed man, and wants only McKenna in this final installment. Only problem, can they each get past their past and move forward with one another. Kendall did an amazing job with her writing, and really allowed for us as readers to feel the connection between the two. I felt as if I was watching their lives play out before my eyes, and couldn't get enough. You can't help but want for things to end perfectly in this amazing story, and in my opinion the series couldn't have ended better. I was extremely sad to read the final line, but was so overjoyed with the conclusion.

If you have yet to start this series, then I highly recommend you do so immediately. I had a hard time putting down each book, and found myself finishing them each much faster than I would have hoped for, which was just to prove that each book was that Amazing. I really loved this series! I can't wait to read lots more by Kendall and to fully support all her books! <3

Release Day Launch - Dare to Resist by Laura Kaye

Dare to Resist

DARE TO RESIST is the prequel novella to the sexy wedding event of the year! The Wedding Dare Series brings together five New York Times bestselling authors, one sizzling story of how the bride and groom fell in love, and four super sexy tales of bridesmaids who hope to get lucky in lust—or maybe even love—at their friend’s wedding. Here’s the story that starts it all!

Dare to Resist By New York Times Bestselling Author Laura Kaye May 12, 2014 Trapped and tempted, this battle of wills rages all night long… KadyDresco and Colton Brooks click on a level that defies logic. There are only two problems. One, he’s her older brother’s irritating best friend, and two, they're bidding on the same military security services contract. When the competition heats up, Colton is torn between wanting to strangle Kady (and her annoying brilliance) and kissing her into submission. Which is a bad idea for a million reasons, because Kady’s submission is exactly what he craves. Being trapped in a tiny motel room with the object of his darkest fantasies will require every ounce of his restraint. Kady doesn’t want his restraint, but Colton knows better. She deserves love, marriage, and a white picket fence—three things Colton can’t give her. But her proximity and the memory of their steamy near-miss three years ago slowly destroys his resolve. And he’s not sure how much longer he can keep his hands off…or his heart closed.

About the Wedding Dare Series:

Long-carried torches, sizzling new attractions, and forbidden conquests will ensure a wedding never to be forgotten.

Promo Tour - Snow On Magnolias by Hattie Mae

About the Book :
Rose Fabre has just been dumped at the altar, and not by just any man but the star quarterback of San Antonio’s Wranglers. To make matters worse, the embarrassing event is spread all over the news, and her own mother blames her. Though that is nothing new, after all Rose is never right about anything, according to her mother. She has to get out of Texas. Somewhere where maybe the news hasn’t reached.

So she heads for Bon Amie Louisiana where her aunt Odelia has been a live-in housekeeper for some rice farmers for years. If she remembers right Bon Amie is so small she doubts it even has a newspaper. The last time she was there she was thirteen years old and remembers having a great time with the farmer’s five boys.

Arriving at the LeBlanc Manor after midnight was not in her plan, but her spur-of-the-moment trip didn’t allow for wretched traffic or the herd of cattle who refused to get off the road. She is met on the lawn by one of the brothers, Sam, who mistakes her for an intruder. Once she explains her reason for a visit and he puts away his shotgun, and shows her to a room.

What do you get when you have a city girl living in a house full of superstitious farmers? Chaos, and plenty of it. Add in two kids, several lazy dogs and her lovesick aunt and Rose has her hands full.

Sam doesn’t like Rose very much and neither do his two young daughters. Rose learns that his wife took off years ago leaving Sam to raise the two girls. And for someone wanting to find a place to regain her peace of mind and forget about men, Rose has walked into a mess of them. Five LeBlanc brothers, all grown up.

Rose has some changes to make. She can continue trying to please her mother and trying to be someone she’s not, or she can embrace this new life she’s discovered and settle in. Bon Amie might not have a Starbucks, but the friendly smiles and unique characters not to mention the slower lifestyle. With this change of pace will Rose finally trust herself and to fall in love, this time its forever. But which brother will win her heart?
